Samantha Wood, MPT, MBA, NPCT, RYT, is a licensed physical therapist, a National Pilates Certified Teacher (NPCT), a Yoga Alliance–certified teacher, and an associate faculty member for BASI Pilates.
She owns and operates The Cypress Center in Pacific Palisades, California, where for over 20 years she and her staff have integrated Pilates with physical therapy for people of all ages and abilities. Her clinical expertise includes Pilates-based rehabilitation, yoga therapy, orthopedics, sports therapy, and functional rehabilitation.
Sam created and teaches two advanced education courses for BASI Pilates: PILATES FOR INJURIES & PATHOLOGIES (for Pilates teachers) and PILATES: INTEGRATION INTO THERAPEUTIC PRACTICE (for rehabilitation professionals). She has been presenting these courses, as well as teaching other workshops and lecturing at Pilates conferences around the world, since 2010.
By popular request from former students of these courses and workshops, Sam is now offering PRIVATE CONSULTATIONS, either in person or via Zoom! As a physiotherapist, certified Pilates teacher and certified yoga teacher; Sam offers a unique perspective on working with injuries. Perhaps you have an injury or pathology and you are unsure which exercises would be unsafe and which would be beneficial.
